Indians tend to take the wedding season a little bit seriously. For Example, there is usually a six-nine month waiting period between the engagement and the final wedding days , because that’s how long it takes to prepare for the bash. From staying up nights deciding if it’s too rude to not invite your fifth cousin’s in-laws, to setting aside a week to figure out the multiple permutations and combinations for the final wedding budget, as takes it’s several months of stress, panic, and a whole lot of excitement but still could not get the final budget.

Moreover, one of the greatest problems that any family is sure to face is figuring out the coordination with Wedding Vendors on the events day for their several hundreds of guests.

Planning a wedding is no less of an adventure. From shopping and photography to finding a venue and sending out invites, it is a stressful affair for both the couple and their families. To solve this problem, a string of startups have popped up in the last few years to make the event a hassle-free affair. And upping the game in the industry is Shaadi Baraati, a marketplace that connects vendors and buyers. Shaadi Baraati follows a a community driven model that allows couples getting married to connect with wedding professionals such as make-up artists, photographers, decorators, wedding venue, event planners, etc.

The Bangalore-based startup is now looking to expand its operations in other metro cities, according to Pargat Singh Sidhu, CEO & Founder, Shaadi Baraati A high number of queries coming in from these markets prompted the founder to seriously start thinking about taking the platform to these locations.

“After having catered to the destination wedding market through our community, We are now looking at extending our platform to geographies such as the Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Singapore,” says the Post Graduated, who started Shaadi Baraati in 2019"

The idea is to have dedicated platforms for each of these geographies where local buyers and sellers can connect for all their wedding needs. Thirty-three-year-old Pargat points out that the company’s growth has been completely through word-of-mouth. He believes that an already served and satisfied customer base would help spread the word in other Metro Cities.
